Description
The Grange is a house dating from around 1770, constructed of brick with a roof made of black glazed pantiles. It has a double pile plan and features a west front that is two storeys high and consists of five bays. The central entrance has a panelled door set in panelled reveals, supported by fluted engaged columns and topped with a hood. The sash windows include glazing bars, sills, and gauged skewback arches. A modillion timber eaves cornice runs below the gabled roof. There is a 19th-century extension to the north.
The rear of the house shows less decorative treatment typical of such buildings. It is also two storeys high with a dormer attic. The central entrance at the back features an early 20th-century half-glazed door beneath a flat hood. There are two stepped buttresses to the left. The windows consist of three-light casements set under segmental arches that date from the 18th century, except for the central first-floor window, which is from the 20th century. A flat-topped dormer was inserted into the roof in the 20th century, and twin stacks are positioned in the valley between the gabled roofs.
