Description
The barn at Common Farm, dated 1783, is constructed of brick and features a pantile roof. The west side has a central entrance with full-height double doors, which are flanked by pilasters. The corners of the barn are also highlighted by pilasters. There is one slit ventilation light on each side of the door, although the right-side light is now obscured by a 20th-century breeze block outbuilding. The barn has a gabled roof, and the east side includes an opposing gabled transept entrance. The south gable displays tumbling and the date "1783" in raised brickwork. Inside, the roof consists of tie beams on straight braces that drop to wall posts, with two tiers of butt purlins and collars.
