Description
The barn at Church Farm is an 18th-century structure, with a date of 1782 indicated by iron end ties, although this may not reflect the actual construction date. The barn has undergone some alterations in the 19th century. It is built of brick, featuring raised brick coped gables with brick kneelers and a pantiled roof. On the west side, there is a blocked central main door. The north gable end displays iron ties dated 1782, along with three diamond-shaped pierced ventilation grids situated above two later brick battered buttresses. Inside, the barn has a staggered butt purlin roof with a ridge piece, comprising five bays. The two end bays are floored at first floor level to create staging, a modification made in the 19th century.
