Description
Riby Grange is a farmhouse built around 1820, with additions made around 1850. The structure is constructed of brick with a stucco finish and features a slate hipped roof with lead dressings and three brick wall stacks. The front of the building has three bays and is two stories high, divided by pilasters. The central entrance consists of a glazed two-leaf panelled door, which is sheltered by a square porch. This porch has bordered round-headed sidelights and double glazed doors with overlights. It is supported by square stucco columns decorated with egg and dart motifs in the panels, capitals, and a deep entablature that includes a heavy cornice, an egg and dart frieze, and modillions. Flanking the doorway are single plain sash windows, while the first floor features three additional glazing bar sashes. All windows have decorated covers for external roller shutters. The eaves are deeply overhanging and supported by pierced scrolled brackets. Inside, the windows still have shutters. At the back left of the building, there is a mid-19th century canted bay window with plain sashes and a heavily moulded entablature.
