Description
Hinton Woodland Cottages is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with some 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of chalk blocks with brick dressings and galleted pointing, featuring brick additions and a tile-hung front on the first floor. The roof is covered with old plain tiles. The building has two bays and includes a large added stack on the right side, along with a 19th-century parallel range with a cellar added to the rear and a 20th-century conservatory at the left end.
At the center, there is a 19th-century weatherboarded gabled porch with top-glazed double doors. On each side of the porch, there are 19th-century three-light casements, and tile-hanging surrounds the first floor, which also has two 19th-century two-light casements. The eaves were rebuilt in the 19th century and feature dentilations. The stack includes blue headers, some arranged in a diamond shape, and the roof is hipped on the left side.
