Description
Acacia Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with alterations from the late 18th century and a 19th-century addition, along with some minor changes from the 20th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features a thatched roof with raised brick coped gables and two stacks at the rear. The building has parallel ranges, with the rear range being the 19th-century addition. It is a single-storey structure with attics, a plinth, and an eaves band. The front has three bays, with a slightly off-centre six-panelled door that includes an overlight, set within a 19th-century projecting porch that has a flat roof and a brick dentillated top. This door is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows with segmental heads. The two dormers that extend through the eaves have raised brick coped gables, rebuilt in the 20th century, and feature thatched roofs with two-light glazing bar casements.
