Description

The White Horse Hotel is a public house, dating back to the 17th century with alterations made in the early 19th century. It was likely originally timber-framed but is now constructed of painted brick and render, with stucco quoins and dressings. The roof is thatched, with raised brick coped gables and two gable stacks. The building is single-storey with attics, and has a three-bay front. The central entrance has a boarded door set in a fluted surround, with a small hood supported by scrolled brackets. Either side of the door are single tripartite glazing bar sash windows, each with a splayed rusticated stucco lintel and raised key blocks. A niche above the door contains a figure of a white horse. Two through-eaves dormers with thatched gables and glazing bar sliding sashes and casements are situated in the attic.
