Description
This is a 17th-century barn located 20 meters east of the coach house at Woodcote Manor in Bramdean. The barn features a timber-frame structure that is weatherboarded and sits on a brick plinth, topped with an old plain tile roof. It has six bays with aisles and a projecting hipped midstray porch that is three bays in, with a door located in the central bay. There is a 19th-century brick stable block attached to the left end bay at the front. Inside, the roof has been partly rebuilt as a queen strut roof with queen posts. The structure includes straight braces to the ties, aisle ties, posts, and aisle plates, all resting on old brick bases.
