Barn And Cartshed In Farmyard 100M E Of Brockwood House

This is a T-shaped range of a barn with an attached cartshed, located 100 meters east of Brockwood House. It dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. The structure features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, sitting on a brick plinth, and has an old plain tile roof. The barn consists of 11 bays, with open third bays at either end and high windows with leaded lights on opposite walls. Inside, there is a queen post roof supported by straight braces, and the roof is half-hipped. The cartshed, which is from the 19th century, is attached to the front at the center and consists of three bays, with the four open bays closest to the barn, a brick-walled garage in the next bay, and a weatherboarded end bay. The cartshed's roof has a lower ridge and eaves compared to the barn, with a half-hipped end, and it extends from the roof and wall of the barn at the other end.
