House. C17 core, altered C19. Mixed limestone and sandstone rubble; stone slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2-window range; wing to rear right. C20 6-panel door (upper 2 panels glazed) in C19 dressed stone surround. Horned 2/2 sashes to each floor on right have projecting stone sills and C19 surrounds. Matching sash window to ground floor on left; beyond this a blocked doorway with wooden lintel; small 3/6 sash above. Steeply-pitched roof with brick end stacks. INTERIOR: left room has C17 chamfered ashlar fireplace with iron grate; transverse oak beam with oak joists. Right room set beyond an ashlar dividing wall: C19 stone fireplace with cast-iron range (range installed 1994). First floor: the upper rooms divided by cruck-like curved principals set on a tie beam which has been cut through to form a doorway. The truss infilled by C17 plank and muntin partitioning. Left room with original purlins showing wind brace mortices near the gable; oak ceiling joists. Right room with oak and elm floorboards, wavy purlins. A plank and muntin screen in rear wing is not original to the house.
