Description

The Church of All Saints features walls and steps, including entrances and a wall facing Church Lane. This structure dates from the 19th and 20th centuries and is made from a mixture of limestone and sandstone rubble, with ashlar sandstone piers, steps, and an iron gate. The main steps leading to the Church of All Saints are accessed from South Church Street, and the attached walls to the west are at two levels, separated by a garden terrace.

The south-west entrance to the churchyard includes a 19th-century iron gate. The wall continues into Church Lane, where there is a memorial archway, and it extends to a stile adjacent to Chantry House on North Church Street. The main entrance features two octagonal bollards and two large Gothic Revival piers with cusped sunken-panel faces and gabled caps topped with fleur-de-lys cresting. The coursed sandstone side wall has ramped copings, and a flight of steps that returns and then continues in short flights towards the south transept.

From Church Lane, there is a 20th-century memorial archway dedicated to the Brooke-Taylor family, which has an ashlar basket arch and a stone-slated roof.
