Description
Spring Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, formerly known as Pryburgh Butts View. It is constructed of coursed dressed sandstone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is two stories high and has a symmetrical facade with a three-window range. Notable architectural details include large quoins on the left side and a central six-panel door, where the top two panels are glazed, set within a wooden doorcase that has a pediment supported by shaped brackets. The windows are mullioned two-light designs, each containing a two-over-two sash and a four-pane casement, with projecting stone sills and raised ashlar surrounds. An eaves band runs along the top, and there is a brick stack at the left end. The eaves are lower at the rear. The cottage forms part of a matching pair with Butts View, which is located on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
