Description

SK 17 SE PARISH OF GREAT LONGSTONE MAIN STREET 3/19 (North Side) Stone Croft, Cuckoo Cottage and the Little House GV II

Possibly house and warehouse, now three cottages. Late C18, Rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. Cement tile roof and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. Two brick ridge stacks and one brick gable end stack. Flush quoins. Three storeys. South elevation of three bays. The left hand two bays form the original house and have a doorway with stone lintel and jambs and plank door. Flanked on each side by a window with flush stone surround and C20 top-hung casement. Two similar windows above and two similar but smaller windows above again. To the right are two C19 or C20 doorways with stone lintels. To the right again, is a C20 window. Original window above with segmental arch and casement lights, and no dressings. Similar, but smaller window above again. Listed for group value only.
