Description

Joiners Cottage, formerly known as The Cottage, is a pair of cottages now combined, dating to the late 18th century. The construction is of coursed squared gritstone with bands of limestone, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins. The roof is slate, with crested ridge tiles to the front and stone slates to the rear pitches. Stone gable end stacks are present. The building has a double-range plan and is two storeys tall, with a single bay for each original cottage. A central, adjoining doorcase serves both entrances, each featuring a 20th-century plank door. To either side of the doorcases are three-light flush mullion windows with 19th-century casements. Above these, two similar windows also have 20th-century casements.
