Description
The White Hart Inn is a public house that was originally built as a house in 1676 and underwent significant alterations in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed from rendered stone with painted stone dressings and features a slate roof with brick gable end stacks. The gable is stone-copped with a plain kneeler on the east side. It is a two and a half storey structure with two bays, featuring a central doorcase that is quoined and has a panelled door. On either side of the door, there are 19th-century plain sash windows set in raised surrounds. To the east, there is a triangular datestone inscribed with 'IC 1676'. Above the door, there are two similar sash windows, and above those, there are two 17th-century recessed and chamfered openings fitted with 19th-century casements. There is also a single storey 20th-century lean-to extension on the east side with a small window. The interior of the ground floor rooms has been significantly altered.
