Description
The Scout Headquarters, originally a Presbyterian chapel, was built in 1754 and has had 20th-century additions and alterations. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a 20th-century concrete tile roof.
On the west elevation, there are three large, raised, square section mullioned and transomed cross windows featuring 20th-century glazing. A 20th-century lean-to is attached to the south side. The east elevation includes a flush doorcase with a plank door, and above it is a small rectangular stone plaque inscribed with '1754'. Flanking this doorcase are similar cross windows to those on the west elevation, with the southern window retaining remnants of 18th-century glazing. A plain band connects the two lintels. To the south, there is the roof of an adjoining house, which features a 19th-century casement window.
