Description
Churchlady House is a house dating from the early 18th century and was completed in 1768. It is built from rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and has a Welsh slate roof with stone-coped gables featuring moulded kneelers. The house has rendered ridge and gable end stacks and is two storeys tall in an L-plan layout.
The south elevation consists of four bays. The earlier part of the house is on the left, featuring a single light window with chamfered surrounds, a 2-light chamfered mullion window, and a doorway with a chamfered stone surround, which has a 20th-century door. Above, there are two 2-light chamfered mullion windows. The right-hand bay projects forward and includes chamfered quoins and a first-floor string band. There is a 2-light window on both the ground and first floors, with square section surrounds and mullions, along with outer bead moulding. The gable features a datestone with a rounded top and recessed bead moulding, inscribed with 'FW 1768'.
Additionally, there is a garden wall with moulded copings and gate piers that are square in plan with moulded caps, located along the road.
