Description
The White Lion is a public house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with gritstone dressings and features a cement tile roof with stone gable end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical north elevation with five bays. The central doorway is accessed by six stone steps and is framed by a stone surround with square section bead moulding and a stone bracketed hood. On either side of the doorway are broad tripartite windows, with the central opening being narrower. The windows include single and two bar sashes. Above, there are five windows with flush stepped stone surrounds, also featuring two bar sashes.
