Description
Crispin Inn is a public house built in the late 18th century, with additions around 1850 and 1877. The 1877 wing features coursed squared limestone, while the older section is rendered with gritstone dressings. The roof is made of Welsh slate, with stone coped gables, moulded kneelers, and ridge cresting tiles on the 1877 wing. The building is two storeys high and has a north elevation with four irregular bays.
The lower three bays on the left have an off-centre doorway with a plain surround and a c1850s openwork gabled wooden porch. To the right, there is a 3-light window, and to the left, a 5-light square section flush mullion window. Above, three glazing bar sashes are set in stone surrounds and rise into gabled dormers with fretted bargeboards. The taller gabled bay on the right has chamfered quoins and features a tripartite mullioned window on each floor, both with glazing bar sashes. Additionally, there is a doorway on the ground floor with a stone surround and a stone bracketed hood. The gable includes a moulded datestone inscribed "Erected 1877."
