Description
Number 10, Memorial Cottage, and the cottage attached to the east are a row of three cottages dating from the 18th century, with later alterations. They are constructed from coursed gritstone rubble, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins, and have stone slate roofs with stone gable end and ridge stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and consist of single bays with a continuous plinth.
Memorial Cottage, located to the west, has a flush doorcase with a 20th-century plank door on the east side. It features a horizontal sliding sash window in a flush surround, which was formerly a mullioned window, and a similar window is located above. There is a blank plaque over the door. To the east, Number 10 has a similar doorcase with a 19th-century door, and the windows are in reversed positions compared to Memorial Cottage. Above, there is a horizontal sash window and a casement window in an 18th-century two-light flush mullion window, which was formerly a three-light window. Further east, the attached cottage has a flush doorcase with an early 20th-century door and a horizontal sliding sash window in an 18th-century flush surround. A similar window is located above.
