Description
Mompesson Cottages is a pair of cottages built in the late 18th century, with a 19th-century addition. They are constructed from coursed gritstone rubble, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins. The cottages have a stone slate roof and stone gable end stacks, with stone coped gables that include moulded kneelers. The structure is two storeys high and consists of two bays, along with a single bay recessed 19th-century addition to the west.
The front features two three-light flush mullion windows, with two doorcases positioned between them. The doorcase to the west is from the 18th century, while the one to the east, which abuts the window, is a 19th-century insertion. Both doorcases have 19th-century panelled doors. To the east, there is a blocked 18th-century doorcase that has been filled with a 20th-century fixed small pane window. Above, there are two additional three-light flush mullion windows. The back addition to the west has a doorcase with a plank door and a quoined window fitted with 20th-century casements, along with a similar window above.
