SK2169 HOLME LANE 831-1/3/105 (North side (off)) 20/05/74 Gazebo at Holme Hall (Formerly Listed as: HOLME (North side) Gazebo at Holme Hall)

GV II

Gazebo. Mid C18. Ashlar sandstone facade otherwise coursed limestone; concrete roof. Single cell set into bank with prospect terrace behind roof balustrade. EXTERIOR: tall round arch flanked by semi-domed niches set above oval statue niches (statues removed to Holme Hall for safe keeping). Moulded cornice surmounted by incomplete balustrade with turned balusters and corniced end dies with ball finials. Each return has solid ashlar parapet. INTERIOR: no interior features. Now set in woodland at the head of a flight of steps leading from archway in Terrace walls to east of Holme Hall (qv).
