Description
The gazebo, built around 1830, is located to the south-east of Crossrigg Hall. It is primarily constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with the ground floor on the west side made of Flemish bond brick. The structure features projecting quoins and two bands between the floors, along with a projecting, embattled parapet supported by block corbels. The gazebo has a rhomboid plan at the junction of two walls and consists of two stories with a single bay.
The ground floor includes a plank door with a small sash window to the right on the west side. Access to the first floor is through French windows on the west side, which are reached by a curved cast-iron staircase that has stone steps. This staircase features a central colonette for each spiral curtail, scrolled tread ends, and geometric wrought-iron decoration on the banisters. The landing mirrors this detailing, with supports designed as clustered colonettes. The other three sides of the gazebo have paired windows beneath hoodmoulds with labels, and all windows are fitted with glazing bars.
