Description
This is a late 18th century or early 19th century milestone designed in the Calver twin-panel style.
The milestone is made from an upright flagstone and is located on the south side of the B6054, positioned on a grass verge. It has a rectangular shape with rounded shoulders and is set vertically into the ground. The mileages are carved into the stone within two semi-circular panels, which read: GLEADLESS/ 10/ MILES and CALVER/ 4/ MILES. The names of the destinations follow the curve of each arch.
