BIDDLESTONE BIDDLESTONE NT 90 NE 15/23 Kennel Cottages c.300 yards north of Biddlestone Home Farm

2 cottages. 1844. Ashlar with Welsh slate roof.

Tudor style. 2 storeys, 3 bays.

Rusticated quoins, chamfered plinth and rusticated lower course of masonry.

Slightly-projecting cross-gabled centre bay has rusticated quoins also.

On ground floor, 3-light mullioned windows with diamond-paned sashes under hoodmoulds. Similar 2-light windows above, those in outer bays in gabled half- dormers.

Central gable has kneelers, ridged coping and obelisk finial. Gabled half- dormers are similar but with hat-shaped finials.

Hipped roof with 2 cross-axial tripartite octagonal ridge stacks.

On both returns doorways with moulded surrounds and hoodmoulds in corniced stone porches. To right the porch is open and has 6-panelled inner door. Porch to left has boarded door.

Interior has contemporary fireplaces, iron ranges, 6-panelled doors and shutters.
