Description

An early 19th-century pair of cottages stands in Harbottle, known as Peels Cottages, comprising numbers 4 and 5. The cottages are constructed of dressed stone with ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof. Number 4 has a single storey and four bays, while number 5 has a single storey and three bays. Boarded doors are located in the second and sixth bays, set within alternating block surrounds. Sixteen-pane sash windows are present throughout. The gabled roof features flat coping and original end stacks, with later rendered brick ridge stacks. Outshuts extend from the rear.
