Description

A row of three water troughs, dating from the 18th century, is located to the north-west of the barn at Hollin Bower in Bilsdale Midcable. These troughs are made of hard sandstone and feature three rectangular basins with central lips at both ends. They are supplied by a constant spring from the right. The rear wall is roughly coursed, and there is a flat platform of flags in front, bordered by a rounded outer kerb. These troughs are included in the listing for their group value.
