Restored watermill, probably late C18. Coursed tooled sandstone; concrete-tiled roof with stone ridge, copings and stack. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Boarded door at right. 3-light fixed windows on ground floor right and first floor left. Set-back lean-to wheelhouse at left and mill race wall projecting to left. Oak undershot wheel restored by Hauxwells of Yarm. 3-bay returns with small casements in gable ends, and a loading door. Rear elevation has opening for shaft. Interior shows stout collared principal-rafter roof with principals halved at apex and ashlared at eaves; all joints pegged. Machinery in working order with 2 stones: French burrs for wholemeal flour and Derbyshire grit for barley. C18 stone fireplace with peat slab.
