Description
This is an 18th-century milestone located 100 meters south of the drive to Forest Heath, along the A337 road in Brockenhurst. The milestone is made of painted stone and has a square plan with a hipped top, positioned diagonally on the road. It features inscriptions on both front faces, stating "III MILES to LYMINGTON" and "V MILES to LYNDHURST." This milestone is part of the route established by the Lymington, Lyndhurst, and Rumbridge Turnpike of 1756.
