Description
The Dining Hall and Old Chapel Flat, located 20 meters south of the house at Moyles Court School, is a stable block that has been converted into a dining room and flat. It dates from the late 17th century and was altered in the late 20th century. The building features a dressed stone plinth, brick construction, stone dressings, and a plain tile roof.
It is two stories high and has seven bays. At one end, there is a 20th-century porch with a reset oval window that leads to 20th-century classrooms connecting to the main house. The road-facing front includes a right-hand end bay with a two-order arched doorway set in a raised rectangular brick frame. There is a high-set oval window on the left-hand side. The central bay, the bays on each side, and the next right-hand bay contain three arched-light windows. A raised band is present on the first floor, which features a wide arched window in a square stone frame. Five 20th-century windows have been inserted into the original openings, except for the right-hand middle bay. A cornice band runs below a plaster cornice, and the building has a hipped roof with a ridge stack at the right end.
