Description

Rockford Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse, extended in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick, with some rendered areas, and has a thatch roof to the original section, and a later slate roof to an extension. The main part of the house is two storeys and three bays wide, with a two-storey, low-pitched-roof, three-bay addition projecting forward. The front elevation features a central, gabled, half-glazed timber porch with a six-panel, top-lit door inside. Wide two-light casement windows are present on each side, set under rubbed brick arches. The first floor has similar windows; however, the central window has been bricked up and plastered over. Chimneys are located at the ends of the building. A wing to the left-hand side has segmental-headed openings filled with shutters on its side and end elevations, and two-light casement windows and a door are present on its first floor. The roof is hipped.
