Description
The Alice Lisle Inn is a public house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick with blue brick decorations and features 19th-century bands of plain tile. The roof is covered in fishscale tiles. The building is two stories tall and has five bays, with a 19th-century addition at one end that is one and a half stories and has two bays, as well as a 20th-century lean-to at the other end.
The main section of the inn has a slightly projecting porch made of rubbed brick, which includes a moulded cornice and a pediment. The entrance features a six-panel door, with two-light casement windows on either side. There is a raised band on the first floor, where similar windows are found, and the windows on either side have blue brick aprons. All windows are topped with rubbed brick arches. The gable walls have kneelers and end stacks, with a central stack located behind the ridge. The 19th-century addition on the right-hand side contains two-light casement windows set under a rubbed arch and has a gable wall.
