Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Palace Lane are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, although part of the structure was demolished in the 20th century. They are built of brick with blue header decoration and feature an old plain tile roof. The cottages are two stories high and have three bays. The front includes a plank door in a solid frame, located under a blue brick segmental head near the left-hand end and to the right of the central bays. Each bay has a two-light casement window with a segmental head, topped with a course of blue headers, and there is a two-light casement window on the first floor. All windows are leaded. A brick cornice runs along the top, and there is a stack at the right-hand end as well as a large stack between the central and left-hand bays. It appears that a bay has been removed from the left-hand end. There is an outshot at the rear.
