Description

Three cottages, numbers 3, 4, and 5, stand on the north side of The Lane in Burmington. They were built in the late 18th century. The cottages are constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a stone slate roof and brick ridge and end stacks. Each cottage is one storey high with an attic, and each has a 3-window front. They possess single-unit, double-depth plans. Each cottage features a plank door beneath a gabled hood, along with a two-light, 16-pane casement window with a segmental arch at ground level. A two-light, 16-pane casement window is set within a full gabled dormer. The interiors have not been inspected, but are likely to be of interest.
