Description

A pair of semi-detached estate cottages dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed with a timber frame and plaster infill, set upon a brick base. The roof is covered in fishscale and plain tiles. The cottages are 1½ storeys, with five bays and projecting gables on both sides to the second bay from each end. Planked doors are located in the end bays. The projecting gables contain three-light casement windows beneath pent-roofed hoods, and a two-light casement in the gable. The central bay has a two-light casement under a pent-roofed hood, and a gabled dormer with a two-light casement. All casement windows are lozenge-glazed with cast iron. Finials adorn the gables. A central chimney stack rises from a rectangular base to two octagonal shafts that join at the head. Similar chimney stacks are located at the rear of the end bays.
