Description
The Thatched Cottage Restaurant is a cottage that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features a timber frame with brick infill and a thatched roof. It is 1½ storeys tall and has three bays, with a 20th-century addition at the rear. The front of the building has a 20th-century half-glazed door set under a cambered arch in the center. On the left-hand bay, there is a large 19th-century two-light casement window with a segmental head. The right-hand bay displays the exposed timber frame. At the end of the building, there is a two-light casement window situated between two sloping buttresses. Above the right-hand and center bays, there are 19th-century three-light eyebrow dormers. The roof is half-hipped, featuring a ridge stack to the right of the center and another stack at the left end.
