Description
Venniford Cottages are a pair of semi-detached estate cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from red sandstone random rubble and feature a double Roman tile roof with overhanging eaves and stone stacks positioned away from the gable ends. The cottages are arranged in a U-plan and are one and a half storeys high.
The front facade includes two three-light dormers at the center, while all ground floor windows have ogee heads and astragal leading. The roof over the end bays slopes down in a catslide style above a two-light window. Flanking the central Tudor arch head entrances are four-light windows, and the entrances themselves have plank doors.
On the left side, there is a rendered gable end with plain tiled pentices over two three-light casements supported by paired brackets. The left bay jetties out above a 20th-century two-light window. The right side is similar but features a tile-hung gable end and retains all original windows.
