Description
Cross Dormont Farmhouse and the attached barn are a Grade II listed house and outbuilding, dating from 1682 as indicated by the lintel. The building is constructed from limewashed stone and features slate roofs. It is designed in an L-plan, with a two-storey house that has a lower range extending to the west. The west elevation consists of two bays, with the lower range to the south. The house has sashed windows with single glazing bars, and the first bay on the first floor has all glazing bars. The entrance, which features a dated lintel and a studded door, is located in the second bay. There are two gable-end stacks and a cross-axial stack.
The east elevation shows varied fenestration, including one chamfered window. The north elevation of the wing has a three-bay former house; the first bay is part of the house and has a sashed window above, while the second and third bays feature two-light single chamfered-mullioned windows with dripstones, along with a stable door.
To the west, the bank barn has five cow house doors with ventilation slits. There is also a lower outbuilding to the west that includes a gabled wing and segmental headed entrances. The south elevation of the barn has ventilation slots and a ramped barn entrance.
