Description
Jessamine Cottage and The Old Loft are two houses that may date back to the 17th or 18th century. They are constructed from roughcast stone and topped with slate roofs. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of seven bays, with the fifth bay being recessed and gabled, while the sixth and seventh bays are also recessed. Most of the windows have casements, but the first bay features sashed windows with vertical glazing bars and horns; the first-floor window has a gablet above it. The fifth bay includes two ground-floor windows with timber lintels and dripcourses, one of which has a two-light wooden chamfered-mullioned window with a reused lintel. The entrance is located between the second and third bays, featuring a slate slab porch and a wide-board door, while the entrance to the fifth bay has a stable-type door. There are cross-axial stacks present. The first three bays form Jessamine Cottage. This listing is included for its group value.
