Description
Sawrey Ground Farmhouse is a farmhouse that features a datestone inscribed with "AS 1627/JOHN SWAINSON 1730/REBUILT TCCE 1901". The building is made of roughcast stone and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and consists of three bays, with an attached one-storey, two-bay wing on the south-east side. The ground floor windows have dripcourses, and the first bay includes a fire window to the left; all windows are fitted with casements. The entrance is marked by a slate slab porch, which has the datestone positioned above the door. The farmhouse has gable-end stacks. The wing features two buttresses on the west side and a window on the south side. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with slate dripcourses and a lean-to porch situated in the angle. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
