Description
Ivy Cottage, Virginia Cottage, and Jessamine Cottage are three estate cottages built in the mid-19th century. They feature greensand rubble walls with Ham stone quoins and dressings, and have straight-chamfered surrounds. The cottages have low-pitched slate roofs with gable ends and brick stacks located to the left and right of the center on the ridge at the party walls.
The buildings are two storeys high and have a total of six windows, which are three-light wooden casements with original glazing bars, each with eight panes. Above these, there are two-light wooden casements of the same design. The front doors of each cottage are positioned left of center, right of center, and right of center, and feature straight-chamfered stone jambs and four-centred heads. The doors are made of planks with weatherboards and date from the 19th century. Each door is topped with a projecting stone hood that follows the shape of the doorhead and is supported by stone corbels.
