Description
A row of estate cottages dating to the late 19th century, located in Chedington village. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone with stone quoins, and have slate roofs with tile cresting and projecting eaves. Five brick stacks are visible along the ridge. The cottages are arranged over one and a half storeys with approximately eight windows in total. These windows are 2- and 3-light wooden casements with glazing bars, set within segmental stone heads and stone cills. There are six gabled dormers, each large and featuring casements and slate-hung tympana. The front doors vary: numbers 4 and 5 have plank doors, number 6 has a wooden door with glass panes, number 7 has a plank door with top lights, and number 8 has a plank door, all dating to the 19th or 20th centuries. The front walls of numbers 4, 5, and 6 project slightly, and there is evidence of older masonry present. Inside number 7, a hall features a plank-and-muntin partition, while the front room has complete fielded panelling, a dado rail, a dado, and a dentil cornice.
