Description
Culvers is a house with an attached stable and outhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It features a knapped flint base with brick walls laid in Flemish bond, finished with tuck pointing. The roof is slate with stone gable copings, and there are renewed brick stacks at each gable. The building has two storeys and three sash windows with glazing bars (12 panes each), which are topped with gauged brick arches and have stone cills. On the right side at ground level, there is a segmental bow window with glazing bars (35 panes) and a renewed cill with tiles. The front door is centrally located, a six-panelled door from the 20th century, with a segmental fanlight featuring glazing bars, also from the 20th century.
The attached stable to the north uses the same materials and is two storeys high, with one window that is a two-light iron casement. There is a plank door with strap hinges on the left side at ground level, dating from the 19th century, which has been converted into a kitchen. At the south end of the house, there is a lower addition built with the same materials and a hipped slate roof, also two storeys high, with one window that is a two-light wooden casement with glazing bars, and a stable-type plank door with an upper half lid.
