Description
Nos 22, 24, 26, and 28 Market Street are four estate cottages built together in the mid-19th century. They feature coursed rubble-stone walls with dressed stone quoins and a hipped slate roof that has tiled hips and a ridge. There are brick stacks located at the left-hand ridge, center, and right-hand ridge. The cottages are 1½ storeys tall and have four windows, which are 2-light cast-iron casements with a lozenge pattern of glazing bars, complete with stone cills and lintels. The front elevation includes two porches, which have stone walls and gabled slate roofs, with three-sided heads at the entrances. The doors are plank doors that have been painted. The porches for Nos 22 and 28 are located on the end walls and share the same design.
