Description

Stangrah Farmhouse and attached barns is a house and barn dating from 1719, with later additions. The building is constructed of stone rubble, with the house being roughcast and covered by slate roofs. The west elevation features two storeys and two bays, with a gabled wing to the south that was once a stable. The gable end has a lean-to outshut and remnants of steps leading to a first-floor entrance.

On the ground floor, the first bay has a window with small-paned fixed glazing, while the second bay features a small-paned pivoted casement and a casement window at the end of the wing. The first floor includes a window with small-paned glazing in the second bay, a casement in the second bay, and another window set in the angle. There is also a casement in the gable end of the wing and a lean-to porch at the second bay.

The building has two cross-axial stacks, with the squat stack located at the north end. The barn to the north has a segmental-headed entrance and a smaller altered entrance to the south. The gabled wing has a partly reconstructed south wall. The south elevation features a projecting third bay, with a lean-to outshut that extends under a single-pitch roof, and two gable-end stacks in the third bay.
