Description

WHICHAM A595 SD 18 NW (east side) 12/78 Stangrah Farmhouse and attached barns - II House and barn. Datestone: "17 W & SC 19", with later additions. Stone rubble, the house roughcast, with slate roofs. West elevation of 2 storeys and 2 bays, gabled wing, to south a former stable. Gable-end has lean-to outshut and remains of steps to 1st floor entrance. Ground floor has window with small-paned fixed glazing to 1st bay; 2nd bay has small-paned pivoted casement, casement to end of wing. 1st floor has window with small-paned glazing to 2nd bay, casement to 2nd bay, window set in angle. Casement in gable end of wing. Lean-to porch to 2nd bay. 2 cross-axial stacks, one to north end is squat. Barn to north has segmental-headed barn entrance and altered smaller entrance to south. Gabled wing has partly reconstructed south wall. South wall. South elevation has projecting 3rd bay; lean-to outshut projects under single-pitch roof. 2 gable-end stacks to 3rd bay.
