Description
This building is a house and shop located opposite Captain Shaw's School, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of roughcast stone with ashlar dressings and has two storeys with three bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and feature architraves. The second bay contains a shop window with a panelled apron, flat pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice, along with small-paned fixed glazing and an opening light. There are two entrances with plain surrounds; the entrance in the first bay has a semicircular tympanum with an archivolt, while the entrance in the third bay has a four-panel door with an overlight. This building is included for its group value.
