Description
Low Kinmont Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, with a date of 1765 and the initials I. & E.H. found on an ogee panel between floors, which refers to a single-bay addition. The building has undergone later additions and alterations. It is constructed of pebble-dashed rubble and features a graduated slate roof with an outshut at the rear, along with stone ridges and rendered chimneys. The farmhouse is two storeys high and originally consists of three bays. The central panelled door is flanked by a two-light, stone-mullioned casement window to the left and a sash window to the right, with two additional windows above, all set within stone surrounds. The added bay to the left contains a sash window in a stone surround on each floor, with a datestone positioned between them. There is also a further two-bay extension set back on the left, featuring a plank door and a sash window to the left on each floor, along with a casement window above. An adjoining barn range to the right is not of interest.
