Description
No. 22 North Street is a mid-19th century shop with accommodation above. It features a solid rendered front and a hipped slated roof, with a rendered chimney that has a decorated cap on the left side wall. The building is three storeys high and two windows wide. The ground storey includes a shop front, likely original, with enriched iron uprights. On either side of the shop front, there is a four-panelled door flanked by pilasters that support an entablature across the entire front. The upper storeys have raised quoins, with second-storey windows that have flanking pilasters and triangular pediments on consoles. The third-storey windows are segmental-headed and have moulded architraves. The unusual sashes on both storeys feature a single horizontal glazing-bar and margin-panes, and there is a bracketed eaves-cornice.
