Description

This is a house with a shop, likely built in the early 18th century and remodelled in the early 19th century. It was probably originally timber-framed, but the front is now rendered to imitate stonework. The roof is slate, with a hip on the left side. There are rendered chimney stacks on each of the gable ends. The house is three storeys high and has three windows across the front. The shop fronts date to the late 19th or early 20th century, featuring large display windows and slender supporting shafts. An entrance to an alleyway leading to Stapledon Lane is located on the right-hand side. The two right-hand windows on each floor have six-paned sash windows in flush frames. The left-hand windows have triple sashes; the second storey has a two-paned central sash, while the third storey has six-paned outer sashes, both of which are two-paned. A coved eaves cornice, likely dating from the early 18th century, runs along the top of the building.
