Description
28 North Street is a house that may date back to the 18th century but was refronted in the late 19th or early 20th century. The ground storey is solid and rendered, while the upper storeys are covered with wood shingles. The roof is slated and has a gable end facing the street. There are two large stone rubble chimneys, with part of the left side wall rendered. The building has three storeys plus a garret and is one window wide. The ground storey projects slightly and features a wooden entablature. The paired sash windows have plain lower sashes and four-paned upper sashes. The entrance is located to the right, under No. 26A, and consists of a six-panelled door flanked by pilasters. There is a canted bay window with plain sashes on the second storey, and the third storey has paired sashes that match those on the ground storey. At the top, there is an entablature with a bracketed cornice and a triangular gable with plain bargeboards.
